August 25, 2000- 15 years old

Aug. 25, 2000 Today was long. First of all I had to watch Maggie and Kai while Brooke and Steve went to the temple early. I was later picked up by Susan to go to the temple. We waited about half an hour for Heather and Jonathan to come out. When they did we took pictures and then I went to a luncheon. The luncheon was at the Joseph Smith memorial building and had very good food. Afterward we went to the wedding reception at Grandma Pugmire’s house. It was a lot of fun. This is the 2^nd wedding out family has had in the Bountiful temple (Carolyn’s was in the Timpanogas temple).

August 24, 2000- 15 years old

Aug. 24, 2000 Today I woke up at Ryan’s and then ate breakfast at Carolyn’s home. Afterward I went on a tour of BYU with Susan, Chris and Brian Kelly. A little while later I went to a meeting about Futures in the park and Ryan gave us things from Mozambique. I then went to Grandma Curtis’s and Susan gave me stuff from Chile. I ate at a Chinese place which was pretty good. We then hung out more at Grandma Curtis’s and then I came to Grandma Whittaker’s to sleep. Mom’s been feeling sick.

August 23, 2000- 15 years old

Aug 23, 2000 Today I went to Utah. Brooke’s family and I left for the airport around 7:40am and left Milwaukee about 9:30am. We had a layover in Denver where we met Dad and Susan (she just got back from Chile). We all then proceeded to Utah. There we met with everyone except Aimee, Michael, and Spencer ‘cause they were at Grandma Whittaker’s. Ryan also recently got back from Mozambique. We ate at Los Hermanos (which was pretty good) and then a few of us went to Carolyn’s. At Carolyn’s we watched Tommy Boy and played some video games. Now I’m at Ryan’s place to go to sleep.

August 22, 2000- 15 years old

Aug 22, 2000 Yesterday I had Pat spend the night. We had a fun time playing volleyball with Toni, Tom, Cami, and some missionaries. We played pranks on each other all night. Today Pat and I played croquet in the rain on Cami’s front lawn when she wasn’t home and it wasn’t fun. Pat and I went to scouts and played basketball. Afterward I went to McDonald’s. When I came back Cami was mad at Toni for something and it was disturbing. Toni came over afterward and took a picture of me ‘cause she was leaving. She said she’ld miss me most. I’m leaving for Utah tomorrow.

Aug 20, 2000 Today I went to church early and talked to 1^st ward and Brookfield people. I have a suspicion that Emily Smith might like me, but I’m not sure. I went to Sunday evening discussion and had a good time. Afterwards I talked to Miriam, Cami, and Toni (Cami’s friend from Utah). Overall it was a good day.

Aug. 19, 2000 Today I went to work 8-4. Afterwards I walked the dog and played a prank on Cami. I then went to Steve A.’s and played videogames and stuff.

Aug. 18, 2000 Today I helped Tom Nualis with his Eagle project, and it was a lot of fun. I also went out to eat and went home teaching. So all in all a good day.

Aug. 17, 2000 I found out who the porn guy was. I think it’s best if I don’t pay much attention to it, just make sure I don’t get wrapped up in anything like that. I went yesterday to pick up Cami’s friend Toni from the airport, she seems like a nice enough girl. I went to work today and I got my hair cut. My dad came home for a while.

Aug. 14, 2000 Today was fun. I hung out with Steve Anderzjewski, Cami Stokes, and Miriam Wilson. I also found a bunch of porno sites on my internet history, which has me worried. I suppose I’ll have to see what will happen.

Aug. 13, 2000 Today was a good Sunday. I hung out with friends and had good lessons throughout church. I hope the rest of my summer vacation is good.

Aug. 12, 2000 Today I worked and then almost right afterward I went to a stake dance. It was awkward ‘cause everyone thought I liked this one girl, which I don’t know if I like her or not.

Aug 10, 2000 Yesterday I worked 8 hrs. and then slept over at Tom’s house. Today I had drivers ed and then I went shopping and got a new outfit. I hung out at Tom’s. I scheduled another drivers ed lesson for 2:30 on Monday the 21^st. I work tomorrow 4-8.

Aug 8, 2000 Yesterday Pat slept over. I had to mail something for Dad. Today I hung out with Tom and Pat and then went to work.

Aug 6, 2000 Today was Brooke’s birthday. She’s 24. Steve, Brooke, Maggie, and Kai all came over and we opened presents, had cake, etc. The rest of my family also left to go to Utah, so I’m home alone. It’s an interesting experience. I guess I’ll see how it all plays out.

Aug 2^nd, 2000 Today I registered for Sophmore year and paid my $165 debt to the school. I also went to a thing at Elkhorn and ended up playing tackle football with a bunch of 30ish Hispanic people. My team won ‘cause they didn’t know how to play very well. All in all a fun day.

July 15 Today I did some work, saw the X-men movie, Jonathan (Heather’s finacee) came and it was his birthday. The girls came back from Girl’s Camp.

July 14 I got back from my camping trip today. It was an ok trip. I got very sunburnt. Mike Treter hurt his ankle while hiking and had to be taken to civilization on a horse from Spotted Horse Ranch where ¾ of my troop was almost arrested for trespassing. After the hike we went white water rafting, canoeing, and on a COPE course. (I had to walk across a balance beam 35 feet in the air). It was fun. On our way home we visited Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore. Overall it was a lot of fun.

July 3, 2000 I think I’ve decided who I like, but I’m not sure. Today I had work. Our power is still out from last night’s storm. Tomorrow is Independence Day. I bought food for my camping trip.

July 2, 2000 Today was fast Sunday. I was very thirsty. Adrienne, Andrea, and Racheal (Adrienne’s and Emily’s little sister) came up to me and said “hi” and started talking. If that means anything. A storm started up at the end of the day and the power went out. Bro. Treter came by and helped my patrol with their menu. I only have 2 days until I go to the Tetons.

July 1, 2000 - 15 years old

July 1^st, 2000 This past week I had Youth Conference. It was a lot of fun. Our stake got to go help out kids at a spina bifida conference. The first day of youth conference, myself and the other room monitors got stuck in an elevator. I also learned the name of these girls that would say, “Hi, Daniel Curtis” whenever I passed. Their names are Adrienne and Emily Bednarek, Nicole, Andrea, and Katie Bashi. They turned out to be really fun people. After we got done volunteering we had a dance with all the spina bifida kids which was a lot of fun. The day after was Juan Macias’ birthday (Juan’s a fun guy from the South Shore branch) and I had a lot of fun then too. The last day of the spina bifida conference I had a blast too. I helped some preschool age kids build a dragon out of foam-things. It was also Andrea’s birthday. Cami Stokes was trying to find out if I like anyone in that group, and I told her maybe because I’m not sure myself if I do. I might just like the entire group. One of them may have a crush on me or maybe they thought I had a crush on one of them because I suddenly found out their names and started talking to them. But enough about that. I have a campout in 4 days and I still need to check my work schedule. I hope it turns out ok. If only I could know people’s thoughts, my life would be much easier. I’ve decided to go on a quest to be perfect. I will commit myself to following the commandments more closely. I may even work out a little. My prayers have been answered again. They gave me the courage to bear my testimony at the end of youth conference (or should I say God did). My dad officially sold his business yesterday. I wonder how this will affect my life.

Jun 25 Today was a good Sunday. I had a good lesson on prayer in teacher’s quorum. I went home teaching. All around it was a good day.

She spent a long time talking to her fiancée, Jonathan Pugmire (I don’t know if I spelt that right). He’s a good guy too.

May 13, 2000 Today was busy. From 11-3 I was working. From 4-5:15 I was at the mall. And from 5:30-10:30 I was at a scripture bowl/dance.

May5/6 On the 5^th I had a job interview and slept over at Steve’s. We played Axis & Allies and watched Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Today I went to George Webb’s (the restaurant) and was officially hired at McDonald’s. I played around and ate at the Olive Garden.

May4, 2000 I got an interview scheduled for tomorrow at 4 for McDonalds. It turns out I need to be 16 or older to work at most places. Other than that the day was ordinary.

May 3, 2000 Today was a very boring school day. After school I helped a guy move his furniture. Then I went to an AFS thing with Mapi (our foreign exchange student from Chile).

            Today in gym we played soccer outside and it was wet out. I slipped and fell around 4 times and ran into a couple of people. It was ok though ‘cause I scored 2 goals. After school I applied for a job at Circuit City and looked at a job at Best Buy. They both seem pretty desperate for employees. At Scouts I ran a mile in 6min. and 9 seconds. (I was tripped twice by Pat). I also did 46 pushups and 54 situps.

            Today was a good Sunday. I learnt about charity, the atonement, and testimonies. I’ve decided to be as nice as possible and never angry. I also want to work out more.

April 29, 2000 I went on Spring Break and haven’t been able to write in my journal so I’ll backtrack through my trip (end to beginning) so I keep the days straight. (April 29) Today I came home, we left Las Vegas at noon and got home at 9:30pm. It didn’t really take that long because we went through a couple of time zones and had a 3hr. layaway in Chicago. The plane trip from Chicago to Milwaukee took about 13minutes. (April 28) Today we went to Caesar’s Palace Mall and saw a 3D show called “Ride to Atlantis,” it was so-so. We also visited a giant toy store (that was cool). Afterward we saw a comedy/magic show that was very good. For dinner we went to the “Tournament of Kings” it was like Medieval Times (knights jousting, etc.) but had more pyrotechnics and special effects. Our king (the King of Ireland) won a lot of events. Overall it was very good. (April 27) (Found out Aunt Jenny had a baby girl on April 27) Today we visited the Grand Canyon. It was very impressive. Afterwards we drove to Las Vegas and saw a Pirate show at Treasure Island. (April 26) Today we toured Mesa Verde, (it’s a place where a bunch of Native Americans lived and left ruins of cliff-cities and other things) and it was long but ok. After that we went to Four Corners and stayed at a hotel in a big Navajo Indian reservation. (April 25) Today we visited Arches National Park. It was a lot of fun. We got to climb on the Arches and everything. (April 24) Today we visited BYU bookstore and ate at Carolyn’s restaurant (she’s a waitress there). It was fun. (April 23) Today was Easter Sunday. I had a good time at church, etc. (April 22) Today I hung out with relatives and went Easter egg hunting. It was a lot of fun. (April 21) Today I hung out with friends a while and then took a plane to Las Vegas around 9:00pm. Then we started driving to Carolyn’s house.

April 20, 2000 Today I did nothing of value at school. I watched a lot of movies, etc. After school I played Steve in Starcraft (he won 1 and I won 1). I’m going on a trip tomorrow.

April 19, 2000 Today was rainy. At school I did nothing really important. After school I hung around and did almost nothing. We had missionaries over to eat.

April 18, 2000 Today I had a very boring English class. I had to drink lemon juice to stay awake. Scouts went long, so I’m getting to bed late. I also hung out at Steve’s house after school. I had a good breakfast though.

April 17, 2000 Today was pretty much a normal day. All I did was baisically hang around. I played some video games and just had fun.

April 16, 2000 Today was Stake Conference. It was ok. I also had a youth fireside. That was good. I talked a lot with Pat (one of my church friends). I’ve been thinking about a couple of things Alex said yesterday. The first comment that struck me is that he commented that he felt like he “experienced too much.” Which I think is a sign that he regrets what he’s doing. Another thing that sort of made me think he regrets his actions is that he kept on asking people if they’ve smoked marijuana or other bad things as if they did it too, he was less at fault. The second comment that hit me is he thought I was the type of person who’ld do drugs. I quickly explained my religious beliefs on the subject and now I’m wondering why he would think that.

April 15, 2000 This Saturday I went to a forensics meet in Madison. My play-acting group got a silver medal. It was weird ‘cause a kid named Alex followed me and Tom and Steve around. At one point he lit up a cigarette and started smoking. He also bought a bong to smoke marijuana. Anyway, it was an interesting day.

April 14, 2000 Today was a talent show at school (I wasn’t in it) and it went too long and I got out at 2:50 and missed the bus. Other than that the day was normal.
